Accessibility
Updated October 10, 2026
The short version: we want everyone to be able to play. The game is still in development and has not been tested for accessibility yet, so this page says what we are building toward and how to tell us when we miss.
Our principles
These are the principles that guide how we build the game and this website. We work from the Game Accessibility Guidelines, and our aim is to meet every item on its Basic list that applies to a card game.
- Color. Color is never the only signal. Anything shown in color is also shown by shape, text, an icon or motion, so the game plays the same for colorblind players.
- Sight. Text is large enough to read on a phone and has strong contrast against its background. It follows your device's text size setting, up to 200%, without cutting off labels.
- Hearing. Nothing depends on sound alone. Every sound that tells you something has a visible signal to match, and the game is fully playable muted.
- Hands. Buttons and cards are large enough to tap and kept clear of notches and rounded corners. Anything you can do by hovering or dragging, you can also do with a plain tap or click. Menus work with a keyboard or a gamepad, with a visible focus indicator.
- Motion and flashing. A reduced-motion setting quiets decorative animation without hiding what happened in the match. Effects do not flicker or strobe.
- Clarity. When the game refuses an action, it says why in plain language.
Where we are
Kingdom of Bad Ideas is not released yet. Nothing on the list above has been through release testing or an independent audit, so these are aims and not guarantees. We will update this page as each one is tested.
Tell us what is not working
If something is hard to read, hear, reach or use, write to support@kingdomofbadideas.com. It helps to include your device, how you were playing (touch, mouse, keyboard or gamepad), the screen you were on, and what you were trying to do. A human will reply.
